Body By Vi "My Update"

So its with bummer feelings, that I have to say, I had to quit promoting Body By Vi. I was having so much fun with it and I was excited about it and the opportunity to help someone reach that goal for great health.  Unfortunately due to a little lack of detail on my part, during research of the product, I failed to recognize one important ingredient.

I was on my 2nd day of the challenge when I started to notice my face going numb and itchy and getting headaches. I immediately recognized the feeling and knew I had missed an important ingredient.  So I went back over the ingredient list and what I thought was Sucrose was Sucralose, artificial sweetener. Not only can I not do artificial sweeteners, I wont do them.  It was then, that I had to cancel my website and quit the promotion.  Knowing what I know, I cannot promote a product with artificial sweetener. I cannot promote something that I, myself, will not put in my body. Given that, I will also say, I quit the promotion but I didn't give up believing in the product. So I didn't leave with bitter feelings. PLEASE NOTE: Not everyone has this reaction to artificial sweetener. You know your body and you know what it likes and doesn't. I stopped drinking diet soda years ago because of this same exact reaction. I cannot have even sugar free chocolate chips because of this reaction. It is my bodies reaction, not everyones, so make your own call.

With that said...I will say that a lot of people have had great success on Body By Vi. I believe that if Body By Vi is what you need to push you towards a healthier lifestyle and you don't care about the artificial sweetener than 100% go for it. Body By vi is not the devil because they use sucralose. Many companies do and many people don't care.  The fact is a lot of obese people, don't care what they put in their body, which is why they are obese (STOP! I didn't say every obese person.) So truthfully their choice to put artificial sweetener into their bodies, could be a better choice than what they have been putting in there. Its an individual choice and I fully support that.

Again, Body By Vi works....IF you want it to.  If you don't have success, its because you didn't want it that bad.  I for one, did not have success but that's because I did not want the sucralose. I still fully support bringing on a new healthy lifestyle and that means so many different things to so many different people.

With a over a month of review on the product, good and bad, I still say there is way more good then there is bad.  Because some people have allergies to some products, does not make it a bad product. Because some people need to chew food, not drink it does not make it a bad product. Anyone who says, you starve yourself on Body By Vi, clearly does not know what they are talking about and was doing the challenge all wrong. The first day on my challenge, I ate so much food and drank my shakes and still failed to reach my caloric intake.  That, is only because I made great food choices.  If the snack you choose is loaded with fat and carbs and calories, you only have yourself to blame for feeling starved.  I for one am used to drinking my meals, I prefer it. I also already follow a pretty healthy lifestyle, therefore I believe this challenge would have been super easy for me. I find it funny that in my research of the product, it was the obese people who lived a life of unhealthy eating, who complained most about "How you starve yourself", and thats only because they don't know how to utilize healthy food choices to give you the most food for less calories, fat and carbs.

Just because I choose not to promote the Challenge, does not mean I don't support it.  I highly support any challenge that will take you away from your fast food, pizza, soda and sugar habit and get you out of an obese lifestyle and into a healthy lifestyle.

With that said, should you still be interested in trying the challenge yourself I still have a friend that was very successful on the challenge who sells it.  Let me know if you are interested and I will head you her way.

Oh one last thing, A huge shout out to the Visalus customer service.  Without any problem, I was able to call and cancel my order and my promoter package and receive a full refund of all money paid.  They truly do stand behind their product and do offer a money back guarentee with no questions asked. In fact, I didnt even need to ask for the refund, they offered it.  Thats customer service!

How to incorporate the Body By Vi into a somewhat clean eating diet.

Someone recently asked me if you could still eat clean and do Body By Vi.  Obviously Body By Vi is not cleaning eating friendly, due to the fact that its not in raw form, whole or unprocessed.  However if you want to lose weight or just incorporate Body By Vi into your diet for other reasons by all means, make it as clean as you can.

I know I am amazed at the 100's of recipes for Body By Vi shakes. However for me personally, I choose not to use some of the product that is used in the yummy Vi Shakes due to the fact that I want my shake to be as clean as possible.  Therefore, I use only fruits, veggies, raw almond butters, flax seeds chia seeds etc.

I have never been completely clean. Going completely clean, really takes some discipline and huge changes. I just haven't completely gotten there, but I am for the most part. I do not by packaged foods (for myself). I still eat string cheese, yogurts etc.  Therefore incorporating the Body By Vi, is really simple for me. Today was my first day on the 90 day challenge and I had no problem getting in my calories and I stayed full all day and in fact, I probably should have eaten a little more. Below, I will share my food journal for today, so you can get an idea of how I incorporate clean eating into Vi shakes.  Here's the thing, I love using wheatgrass powder and spirulina. But if you've ever used these powders you will know that they taste awful.  Well I have good news. Several of my Vi Shakes have these powders in them and I have to admit, I think they were my favorite yet.

Other fabulous news for me.  I have been journaling my foods for some time off and on. I don't journal necessarily for calories, because when your eating the right foods and right amounts, you really don't need to count calories. But I do journal my foods to keep an eye on my vitamins, calcium, fat, carbs sugars etc. I have never been able to get the RDA of certain items such as calcium.  Today I claimed that victory! I got all my vitamins, fat, calcium, etc. just from eating healthy and drinking my Vi shakes. Its no lie and I'm super excited.
So here is what todays food menu looked like. Check it out and see for yourself that I am eating healthy. I am getting enough food and I am on my way to feeling fantastic.

BODY BY VI 90 day challenge

So I started promoting Body by Vi. Im going to give you a rundown of the reasons I choose Body By Vi. I was in the process of researching 2 different products to promote, both are great products, both cater to 2 different classification of people.  I choose Body By Vi because I decided I wanted to choose the one that was really going to help fight obesity. I wanted to help people learn to eat a healthy diet and set healthy boundaries. I wanted to help people learn to FUEL there bodies, not just eat whatever stepped out in front of them first. Y'all know what I'm talking about there, even I have done it and still do at times.

Throughout my research, I tried my hardest to find something negative about the product.  You know the internet its full of peoples hateful reviews.  Truth be told, I really only saw one success story, after another. Each person telling in their own words, how Body By Vi has changed their life, transformed their body and took them off of medications, which once was the glue that held them. I saw pictures of obese people, one right after another, shedding their fat, gaining energy and really enjoying every second of their new healthy lifestyle. I was inspired!

So then, I decided to do a little research on the product itself in terms of a healthy diet.  So unbeknownst to my friend, (she'll know now), I went on her My Fitness Pal log. I transferred her complete daily log of food for several different days and pasted it on my MFP food journal.  Why? Because I wanted to see not only what she was eating to make her so successful (50lbs in 6 mths - see picture below) but how many calories she was taking in. I was sure she was in starvation mode.  Guess what, she wasn't and the great thing is, she was eating no different then what I eat on a daily basis, but she was having a shake with it. OK!!!! Then of course I looked at the vitamins, calcium, etc etc and she was good.  Not only that, but she had a great exercise routine going on. Something Visalus encourages in order to get in top health and shape.

Finally, I felt I needed to research what it was about Body By Vi that kept them going for the 90 day challenge, in which, many of them were hugely successful.  AND THEN....I found it, my answer.  All you have to do is Pinterest Body By Vi and you will find some of the most delicious shakes. All you do is add some of your favorite raw ingredients veggies, fruits, peanut butter etc, to the shake.  Not only that, but when the need arises for that sweet treat....OH MY! The options are endless.

So with that said, I have not started my challenge because I'm ending a cleanse and getting ready to go on vacation, but I cant wait to get started.  Check out the overview lin khttp://visalus.com/body-by-vi-overview-presentation  , to see if Body by Vi is for you. Banana Peanut Butter protein balls

Well today was a fun day.  I bought a ton of bananas that were getting brown spots for $1 for a whole bag of them. I bought 5 bags. I froze alot of them but I still had some out.  Today they had to be used. So I tried my hand at a couple recipes and I have to admit I have impressed even myself.

Again, you can mix it up and add your own stuff but heres the basic recipe

Banana Peanut Butter protein balls

4 bananas mashed
1 cup Peanut butter
3 cups of oats (gluten free)
2 tbsp flax seed
2 tbsp chia seed
2 tbsp brown rice syrup (or honey)

Mix it all together form balls and put in the freezer to let set

HOLY COW! Its been a while...

Wow its been so long since I updated this blog. I have a ton of pictures to recipes to upload but the unfortunate thing is that its been so long, I forgot what recipes the pictures go with.

So Ive been super busy with schooling and all but Im getting back into my homemade healthy recipes (I think I burned out for a while there) but now that Im back on track and found a ton of yummy stuff on pinterest I want to try, Im hoping to be able to update on my blog all my new healthy finds.

One thing I found while I was on blogging hiatus, is that my body hates fruit.  I tried some 3, 7, 10 day juicing/blending cleanses and found that I gained weight with every day because these cleanses use so much fruit. I never used the amount of fruit that they called for and always upped the veggies but still gained.  So, you might not be seeing a lot of fruit blends from me.  Actually truth be told, I still blend the fruit and veggies for my hubby and daughter but I tend to stick to the veggie blends with maybe an apple.

So with all that said, be watching for some super yummy, mean, clean, green and healthy recipes coming your way

Its good to be back. Pin It

M.I.A

Oh boy this holiday season stole my life...It seems like everytime I turned around I had something to do with the Girl Scouts, christmas parties or just shopping (and baking)

Boy do I have alot of catching up to do.  During my M.I.A. I have learned alot of new stuff. I have not only done smoothie challenges and clean eating but I have also begun changing my lifestyle to that of a Gluten Free one. I went one week completely Gluten Free and I could not believe the difference, shoulder pain that has been unbearable ceased, bloating went away and I found my energy.

One of the things I learned is that my body truly does love to communicate with me. As it turns up, I have awful listening skills.

Ok so with all this newfound knowledge, I still managed to go off the deepend several days (a week) during the holidays.  2 nights ago I indulged in Pizza and fried chicken and brown rice sushi - yep all in one meal...Oh but wait, I did have a salad also.  But the next day, I woke up and it was as if my butt took on 2 other sizes. I felt it before I even climbed out of bed. Seriously, laying in bed I felt like I was laying on a small child but come to find out it was just added layers of butt.  No problem, nothing a smoothie challenge couldnt fix, right? Well yeah, if only I could get motivated to do the smoothie challenge.  However, Im gonna go ahead and throw it out there..Tomorrow starts a new year and new habits...uggg there I said it, so cliche'

So I decided I work better with a organized schedule. I tend to try to do 10 things at once therefore nothing gets done.  I clean the living room, as Im picking up, I bring something into the bedroom then I start on the bedroom never completing the living and so on and so forth. Then I will sit down to research something that comes to mind and I gotta do it right then or Ill forget. So I get on the computer and theres FB so naturally, I have to review FB then it will remind me to do research something else...and next thing you know 1 hr late (ok 2 hrs) and I have not accomplished one thing.

I wont even get into my workouts lately...oh wait, what work outs.  So starting tomorrow I will build a workout schedule so I will know what I need to do what day and it needs to be the first thing I accomplish everyday otherwise I wont do it.

Sounds like Ive got a plan, anyone else have some great ideas for the new year
